Possibly pirate copy?

While I have not had a chance to read through the whole book, what I have read I like. The book presents the selection of engineering materials in a well organized and clearly written format. In the sections that are not covered as thoroughly, there is enough information provided to enable the reader to get a good general understanding and to find and evaluate additional references.

The reason I did not give this five stars is that I am not sure I got a genuine copy from the lawful publisher. The title on the spine of the book is "Selection and Use of Engineering Materials", whereas on the cover the word "Materials" is missing. I find it hard to believe that the lawful publisher would leave out a word in the title on the cover of the book, so I suspect I got a cheap reprint from somewhere. I have not been able to find any other differences between the book I bought and the pdf I was reading while I waited for my copy to arrive. I bought my copy used through Amazon, but not from Amazon directly.

Horrible Exam Prep book

This book if full of valuable network information - almost none of which is asked by the exam questions. This is more than a little shocking since this is a Microsoft Press book, since MS press editions are usually competently written exam guides. However, the actual test, four long and complex case studies from which you must pick out network design factors based on hints in interviews, existing designs, network diagrams and future plans, has little in common with the content presented by this guide.

This book summarizes everything you need to know about setting up a Windows 2000 network, but doesn't say a thing about WHY to choose one type of design over another. Much of the exam is about choosing between alternative design factors, which this MS book does not mention one word of. It has hundreds of sub-topics entitled "making the decision" but those are in fact nothing but re-statements of the technical content and are not about decision making at all. It is highly unlike that anyone could pass the exam using this book, it is merely a summarization of the topics covered in the "core four" 70-210 through 70-217 MS exam guides.

From 1949 to today, China has experienced dramatic changes in its economy and urban development. This book examines these changes and looks at one city, Shenzhen, in detail. The performance and behavior of a fledgling property market in the transitional economy are analyzed in the backdrop of real estate commodification and marketization. Students and researchers in urban geography, urban planning, economics, business, and real estate will find this monograph lucid and original.

Two distinctive periods divide the last fifty years of development in China. The period 1949 to 1978 was dominated by central planning. After 1978, however, economic reforms brought a new property market to many of China's cities. The economic surge of this period has transformed these cities and helped create new metropolises. The special economic zone of Shenzhen grew from what was, until 1980, a landscape predominantly made up of rice paddy fields and traditional villages. By 1995, the population of the city grew to more than two and a half million. Two modes of land provision are identified as the main contributors to Shenzhen's urban development process, which is also echoed in other Chinese cities. Incremental urban land reforms are elaborated within a broad framework of institutional change, while marketization has brought many changes to Chinese society. Continued urban reform toward a market economy seems now irreversible.

This book is full of tips , Mr Tozzoli did it very well, I found that many questions that I ever made to myself about sorround mixing found an answer inside this book, it is wrote in an very easy way to read and it's clear in all explanations.
Incluso para una persona que no habla ingles nativo es simple de leer, este libro esta escrito desde la perspectiva de un ingeniero de mezclas de musica pero sus consejos se pueden aplicar a cualquier especialidad de la ingenieria de sonido, en mi caso yo me dedico a la postproduccion y los datos que he encontrado aqui me han resulatade de gran ayuda para mi desempeño como ingeniero, un gran aplauso al señor Tozzoli.

There is a lot of information that is referenced to the Pro Tools environment but much is related to general surround information. The book is well worth the price.

About the Author
Dr Harvey J. E. Rodda graduated in Environmental Science from Lancaster University and completed his PhD in the Department of Geography, Exeter University in 1993 in the field of hydrological modelling. He is currently a director of Hydro-GIS Ltd, a consultancy company providing specialist services in hydrology and GIS mostly within the private sector. Since 2005 he has been a visiting lecturer at University College London, Department of Earth Sciences, teaching a hydrology module as part of the Geophysical Hazards MSc course.

Professor Max A. Little began his career writing software, signal processing algorithms and music for video games, then moved on by way of a degree in mathematics to the University of Oxford. After postdoc positions in Oxford investigating rainfall and biophysical time series data, he won a Wellcome Trust fellowship at MIT to follow up on his doctoral research work in behavioural and biomedical signal processing. He is currently an associate professor of mathematics at Aston University and a visiting professor at MIT's Media Lab.
